Located 900 meters above Paro Valley, the Tiger’s Nest Monastery clings to a cliff face, marking the spot where Guru Rinpoche is said to have arrived on the back of a flying tigress and meditated in a mountain cave for three months.

The trail begins with a gradual ascent through pine forest, passing a roadside chorten, prayer flags, and a small waterfall. After 2 to 3 hours of trekking, reach the viewpoint offering a dramatic photo opportunity, then continue to the temple complex.

Explore the meditation cave and chapels filled with murals, statues, chortens, and a holy spring. On the descent, you may wish to divert to Machig-phu Lhakhang before returning to the base.
